Another Scale-Craft 0-6-0 to 2-6-0 conversion
This tidy 2-6-0, Yorkville and Western #51, was built by Ed Schorr (son of OO importer Fred Schorr), who recently sent me this photo. On the reverse side of the print it is stamped as having been printed the week of October 5, 1957, right in a peak era for Schorr OO.
The I think very interesting thing about this conversion is that according to Ed he used a shortened Nason 2-8-0 frame. The proportions came out really nicely I must say. I did my best to slightly sharpen and adjust the color of the image seen here.
This model should still be out there somewhere? Worth taking a look in your collection to see if you have it.
This wider view shows more of the layout. Note the scenic efforts and the nice bridge. It is hard to ID many models other than the 2-6-0 itself, but it is still a nice view back into an era when there was an active and close knit community of people working in American OO.
John I have some OO items I will be sending to you.
