A NW-2 from the WCS, part 3: Running well
This project has been done for a few months, and it is about time for a brief conclusion.
This Super-Scale NW-2 model was built by James Trout, and as noted in earlier installments came to me with no drive. But it did have sideframes, so everything you see now is Trout built.
I added a drive based on Athearn parts and a small can motor. It runs great! Not real powerful as it is light, but smooth and a pleasure to see running.
For these photos I tried a different setup, these were taken on my phone and I tried to get more “inside the layout” than usual, an interesting perspective on this fine vintage model.
Nice looking locomotive with lots of “character”!
