Yet more Trucks of Mystery
Over the years I have run into a few unusual OO trucks, and these photos, shared by Chris M., are of yet another that I’ve not seen before.
Anyone ever seen these before?
I don’t think they are commercial. Chris reports that the trucks are insulated for two-rail, with one truck having brass wheels and the other steel. The combination of two-rail insulation and steel wheels for me would tend to point to these trucks being WWII era, when brass was hard to obtain due to wartime restrictions, and modeling supplies in general were not produced. In other words, I would speculate that these trucks are the creation of some enterprising modeler to fit a personal need using materials on hand. Any really early trucks I would expect would not be insulated. Of course, they may also be very early trucks that were subsequently modified for two-rail operation.
The cars they are on are a Nason reefer and the E. H. Bessey boxcar, an uncommon model well worth having in your collection. Scroll down for a few more comments.

I’m also enjoying seeing the close up of his track, which is hand laid (as I have done on my layout as well. Check out more from Chris M. in his Youtube channel, and thanks to him again for sharing.
