Over the summer, with the Bicentennial, I’ve had the layout set at 1976. With the passing of Labor Day it seems like a good time to push things back to 1960 again, and share a few quick photos before I make any changes.

To start I have this view of the left side of the layout. The house/barn on the right are supposed to be part of a farm on the edge of town, and the house on the left is a house down by the tracks. But I still need to work out the scenery better, as this area was laid out for a different setup.

Over beyond the farm you can see the Sinclair station, a Dairy Queen in the distance, and the edge of downtown. Still need to work out the roads better. Speaking of the roads, see that 18 wheeler on the road? That’s full size for OO and was built by Bill Johann.

Over on the right end we have more of the trailers, but now as TOFC cars. The cars they are on were built by Bill Johann, as were two more of the trailers. The CN trailer is by Pierre Bourassa. Was fun to have these out again.

This last view shows the middle of the layout. The switcher was a recent project, seen in recent posts, while I did those road diesels a few years ago, described in this post. The SOO Line car is modified Tyco HO.

I’ve been super slow this summer with finishing projects, but I have several coming soon that fit with a 1960 theme, so will be changing things around soon. The stock pens will be back, different vehicles, etc. But it has been fun to celebrate the Bicentennial again in OO.
