The Kemtron pilot for the S-C 4-8-4
It’s kind of a curiosity, but in looking for pilots for the Scale-Craft 4-8-4, I realized I had examples that were die cast and examples that were slightly different and lost-wax brass castings.
The brass version has to be by Kemtron. It’s a bit more finely detailed and more realistic to my eye. An interesting variation to keep your eyes peeled for.
Very interesting John, these two pieces! So neat to see the oval end holes on the brass pilot Vs the square outside end holes on the SC pilot- the one on top! Fitting one of these in place must have been very rewarding! I love these old parts! Rocky A. Sullivan
